I love cats. I especially loved Stripes, my cat who used to talk to me and passed away last year. I decided to commemorate my loyal friend by basing this quilt on her image. Although Stripes was not “black and white,” I challenged myself to make a quilt of purely “black and white” fabrics for an international quilt group I belong to, called Fifteen by Fifteen. The quilt was an exercise in playing with dark, medium and light values of strictly black and white prints and solid cottons.
The series will be shown as part of a quilt exhibit in Mexico in the spring of 2019 premiering Fifteen by Fifteen works.
The other quilts in the series are Abstract Cat and Complementary Colors Cat.
