Abstract Cat is the second in a series of cat quilts I did for an international quilt group I belong to, called Fifteen by Fifteen. The series is based on my photo of Stripes, my tabby cat who died this year. The challenge was to use opposite colors on the color wheel to achieve an abstract effect. The quilt is made from log cabin blocks. To me, it resembles a “cat tripping in space”.
The series will be shown as part of a quilt exhibit in Mexico in the spring of 2019 premiering Fifteen by Fifteen works.
The other quilts in the series are Black and White Cat and Complementary Colors Cat.
