| Artist Statement: | “Abstract Cat” is the second in a series of cat quilts I did for an international quilt group called Fifteen by Fifteen. The series is based on my photo of Stripes, my tabby cat who died this year. The challenge was to use opposite colors on the color wheel to achieve an abstract effect. The quilt is made from log cabin blocks. To me, it resembles a “cat tripping in space.” The other quilts in the series are “Black and White Cat,” “Complementary Colors Cat,” and “Scrappy Collage Cat.” |
