Customized Memory Art Quilt

Technique:	Twenty 8 in x 7 inch pieced photos photos printed on fabric, surrounded by 854 2-inch black and white squares

Artist Statement:	I made this quilt as a personal gift for my parents for their 60th wedding anniversary. The quilt is a medley of special photos from their lives. On the back I added a special message to mark the event on a handmade label. If you want a special gift of heirloom quality, I can do the same for you. This is a totally personalized work of art. My parents said they couldn’t imagine a more wonderful present! I printed each photo on June Tailor’s inkjet fabric sheets. I bordered each photo with wedges of red fabrics. Then I combined the rows of photos with sashing made of black and white 1″ squares. There are 854 black and white squares in this quilt as well as 20 photos. I quilted around each photo to make the photos pop and I quilted along the sashing.
