Artist Statement:  “A Land Flowing with Milk” is inspired by “The Milkmaid” by Vermeer.  The piece conveys subtle movement. The folds and shadows created in the maid’s clothing as she leans forward and gracefully pours the milk from the jug, and the drape of the cloth on the table, illustrate motion.
