| Artist Statement: | Israel’s national flower is the poppy – in the spring, bright red wild poppies carpet our fields to alert us that the winter is over. It’s a joyous, hopeful sight to see these bright, vibrant flowers popping up everywhere. My quilt Wild Poppies, made with a stained glass technique, displays these lovely flowers. Quilting Arts Magazine ran a Reader’s Challenge, “In the Garden”. Wild Poppies was one of the 12 quilts selected to appear in the June-July 2014 issue of the magazine. Technique taught by Phyllis Cullen. |
