Artist Statement:	Although beautiful in its own right, this quilt is a collection of practice stitches on the longarm. The texture helps bring a 3-dimensional quality to this wholecolth flower. I followed stitch patterns taught in an online class by Julia Quiltoff.

Artist Statement:	This breathtaking piece features an abstract flower bursting fuchsia rays of color into a black abyss. I sliced the image into geometric shapes and constructed the quilt by joining irregular log cabin blocks.

Artist Statement:	The breathtaking colors of autumn remind me of my childhood in New York. The rich, vibrant colors that filled tree-lined streets and roads were spectacular. This work was inspired by a photo taken by Waterfall-Guy while he looked up into the autumn trees in a forest in upstate New York.

Artist Statement:	The design is a sunflower wafting in the wind in a field in Israel. In the spring sunflowers grow in fields along the main roads with their faces turned upwards toward the sun. Using the stained glass technique, I challenged myself to capture the beauty of this scene in this quilt. Based on photo by Miriam Buckman.

Artist Statement:	Israel’s national flower is the poppy – in the spring, bright red wild poppies carpet our fields to alert us that the winter is over. It’s a joyous, hopeful sight to see these bright, vibrant flowers popping up everywhere. My quilt Wild Poppies, made with a stained glass technique, displays these lovely flowers. Quilting Arts Magazine ran a Reader’s Challenge, “In the Garden”. Wild Poppies was one of the 12 quilts selected to appear in the June-July 2014 issue of the magazine. Technique taught by Phyllis Cullen.

Artist Statement:	I love autumn colors. I don't see them often but I am reminded of wonderful rides I took through New England during crisp October days. Seeing these leaves on the ground was the motivating force for this small quilt. The leaves were blown on a fabric canvas and this quilt was born! I used hand-picked fabrics to cut out the leaves, which are raw-edge machine-appliqued on a background that especially made me think of gravel. I meticulously thread painted the veins on each leaf and then I machine quilted individual pebbles on the background.
