Artist Statement:I tried my hand at texture on this quilt. Maya Schonenberger introduced me to buckram, which is used like a stabilizer for lots of tiny bits and snippets of fabric. Once sewn, I could place my palm trees anywhere I wanted on the quilt. To give depth and dimension to the mountains, I used Patsy Thompson’s Texture Magic. It’s a very tactile quilt without boundaries.
