Bed and Lap Quilts

The three commissioned quilts on this page were made for the same person. She approached me and said that she wanted to make her new apartment into a home and she decided adding beautiful quilts to each room would be just the homey touch accomplish that goal. So we set off of the fabric shop and poured over patterns. The quilts below, and their accessories are the result. Her house is indeed a home! Don’t be fooled, quilts are not just bedding!

Shooting Stars Commissioned Quilt

This twin-size, handmade, cotton quilt is customizable according to your color scheme.

This beautiful pattern, called Shooting Stars, is a medley of six-pointed stars across the quilt, which is machine-pieced and machine-quilted. A closeup of the pattern is also shown.

This commissioned quilt was accompanied by a throw pillow for the bed as well as curtains. The possibilities are endless!

Machine washable in cold water and tumble dried.

9-Patch Commissioned Quilt

This twin-size, handmade, cotton quilt is customizable according to your color scheme.

The diagonal design formed by a combination of squares and triangles in dark and light hues runs the length of the quilt, which is machine-pieced and machine-quilted.

Machine washable in cold water and tumble dried.

Rail Fence Commissioned Quilt

This twin-size, handmade, cotton quilt is customizable according to your color scheme.

The zigzag design catches your eye as it travels the length of the quilt, which is machine-pieced and machine-quilted.

This commissioned quilt was accompanied by a set of throw pillows for the bed as well as curtains.

Machine washable in cold water and tumble dried.

Sampler Quilt

This was my first quilt. It consists of 12 blocks different blocks, and is divided by sashing and setting squares. The beauty of this quilt is the variation of each distinct pattern. It took me 10 years to finish it. Although it is machine pieced, I hand quilted the entire quilt. In the meanwhile I took care of my three kids and worked a full-time job. I was determined to finish it, but I will not be hand quilting another full-size quilt again, if I can help it!

Machine-pieced, hand-quilted, fine cotton fabric.
Machine washable in cold water and tumble dried.

Dimensions: 61″ w x 76″ h

Can be customized according to your specifications and color choices. Although this quilt was hand quilted, any orders would be machine quilted.

 

 

 

Lap Quilt

I made this Lap Quilt, for a wonderful, inspiring woman — the principal in my daughter’s school — who fell and broke her hip. I thought it might cheer her up, so one day my daughter and I presented her with the quilt. The back was signed by all the girls in my daughter’s class. It brought a real smile to her face. She was soon up and about again!

The pattern, like Rail Fence, is a variation on the Ribbons All Around pattern,
Machine-pieced, machine-quilted fine cotton fabric.

Machine washable in cold water and tumble dried.
